Okay so Im 17. I write tons of songs and I am good at singing. My dad insists and yells at me all the time that I should do education first for like 5 years and then start my career a little. I DONT WANT TO start my career when Im 27! Why not start it now and improve myself with the time and with the money I earn? its just better for me. my dad criticizes me ALL THE TIME. I finished 2 songs and my dad is extremely happy with the result but he always tells me i need an education and that i dont know anything to be a professinal etc.. my plan is in the other hand is to work with people who GOT education(aka guitarist or pianist). I cant play any instrument well but i know some notes cause I took piano lessons.
Im also a good composer and i know what would be great for the parts of the song etc. i edit the songs in garageband.
My plan is to record my first song professionally in a studio with a guitarist and then send it to this A&R that I already know. he asked me to send him…
and then he said he will see if he likes it.
Is it really impossible to have a career right now, when Im 17 and when I cant play any instrument well but I can write and sing?
this summer i will take vocal classes too. Its just my dad is soooo hurtful… he is no help at all he doesnt support me like this…
please tell me…

you can always start off at gigs , usually ran in a pub/club.
also some people do hire musicians for birthday parties and special occasions.
if your as good as you say you are then put in an advertisement at your local news agent
and put down what songs you can play and sing well, and how long you have been playing, add your mobile number in the advertisement as well so people can contact you if they wish for a musician.
anything is possible it’s if your determined enough and can be bothered.
No musician ever HAS to go to music school it will help you ALOT with technique and such but it is not a necessity if you believe you have the potential then just strive to do it.
